Laura Hasenstab lived in the house for about 25 years. She started a Chihuahua rescue from her home here. Sadly I didn’t get to meet her since she passed away about 9 months prior to my purchasing the house. She was a very spiritual person with an intimate shrine in the living room and a delicate rock garden that still exists today. I hope that she would have been pleased with how her home got transformed.
This is Laura, photographed by her good friend Mary Ann.
Dining room looking into the living room.
First floor landing with ceramic watch dogs. The peel-and-stick floor seen here covered almost the entire second floor.
Second floor kitchen. Now it is divided up into the back bathroom and the laundry room.
Second floor bathroom off the hall.
Second floor sitting room. I divided this room into a closet accessed from the hall and a large walk-in closet off the front bed in what I’m calling ‘the office’.
The second floor back bedroom. This is where some of Laura’s rescue dogs were kept.
Third floor front room.
